In 1651 Henrik Curio succeeded Johannes Pauli as manager and foreman of Johannes Janssonius the older’s printing house and bookshop in Stockholm. In 1659 Curio succeeded Pauli as printer to the university in Uppsala and also as keeper of the bookshop there. His contract with the university was cancelled in 1675, but due to time consuming appeals and conflicts within the university council the cancellation was not confirmed until 1685. He then continued to work for his protector Olof Rudbeck, who had got permission to start his own printing house.
