Olof Rudbeck, professor of medicine at Uppsala university, got permission to start his own printing house in the autumn 1685. As foreman he employed his protegé Henric Curio, who the same year had been definitely dismissed as printer to the university. After Curio’s death in early 1691 C.G. Frediani was foreman. Rudbeck’s or Frediani’s names do not appear in imprints. Rudbeck also ran a paper mill which provided paper for himself and for the university.
