ProvenienznameAlbergotti, Giovanni Battista Tuscan family; probably Giovanni Battista; his book-plate in Madsen, nos 170 and 1982; for the family, see DBI I. Books with this eighteenth-century pencil inscription were later owned by Count Boutourlin; numerous books with the same combination of provenance are also in the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris.

ProvenienznameBoutourlin, Dimitrij Petrovich; Count, 1763 - 1829 (Männlich) Russian senator, diplomat, bibliophile, museum director in St Petersburg; died in Florence; see J. Guigard, Nouvel armorial du bibliophile, 2 vols (Paris, 1890), II 86-7. For his armorial book-plates see Bragaglia III 1753-5 (who confuses Boutourlin with a relative [see below], and gives incorrect dates for that relative); a reworking of 1755 (not in Bragaglia), with added hatching and background, has been identified in C-270. He has frequently been confused with Dimitrij Petroviž Buturlin (1790-1849), who was a soldier.
AnmerkungDimitrij Petrovich, Count Boutourlin (1763-1829); armorial book-plate and shelfmark no. 377; see Catalogue (1831); sale, Catalogue (1839), lot 251.
