noteGennadius gradually paid and eventually received the books from the Hoskier sale in 1910. Note glued on the first flyleaf in the other copy of Chrysoloras's Erotemata owned by the Gennadius Library (L/56: Vicenza, 1491, MEI copy id: 00201113), in black ink, late 19th c., not in Gennadius's hand, but with a pencil inscription on the top (by Gennadius) reads 'belongs in L 55'). Gennadius's pencil inscription on recto of seventh flyleaf: accession code, shelfmark (also followed by the Gennadius Library), bibliographical notes and price references. Cut-out from the Hoskier sale (lot 228, same copy).
