Appears to have purchased a large quantity of books in 1902, but then sold also sold a large quantity of them in what then became known as the Hoskier Sale of 1908 (Sotheby's): Catalogue of a Portion of the Library of H. C. Hoskier... (London: Sotheby, Wilkinson and Hodge, 29 June 1908). His large collection of Greek and Roman coins was sold at auction in 1907 (München: Jacob Hirsch, 1907).
