Umanista. Nato a Overijssche nel 1547 e morto a Lovanio nel 1606. Si formò ad Ath presso i gesuiti, poi a Lovanio. Dopo un periodo a Roma, insegnò latino all'università di Jena, Lovanio e Leida; dal 1592 insegnò storia a Lovanio.
