Kaufte 1814 in Kriegstetten eine Gerbe und trat ab 1820 ebenda als Papiermacher auf, wohl als Kompagnon seines Vaters. Daneben widmete er sich dem Gastgewerbe (Schenke und Kaltwasserbadeanstalt).
