      text: 'Figlio di Giovanni Battista, medico personale di Vittorio Amedeo II di Savoia, si laureò in medicina a Torino a soli diciotto anni . Perfezionati gli studi di anatomia a Leida e Parigi, iniziò la carriera accademica a Torino dove fu prima professore di anatomia e di medicina pratica e poi preside della stessa facoltà. Raggiunse il prestigio professionale con la nomina a medico personale di Carlo Emanuele di Savoia. Collaborò con Giovanni Battista Morgagni alla pubblicazione delle Tabulae anatomicae di Bartolomeo Eustachi (Roma 1714) curata da Giovanni Maria Lancisi. Fu in rapporti di amicizia e corrispondenza con importanti scienziati ed eruditi del suo tempo quali Antonio Vallisneri e Jacopo Facciolati.'
