Professeur à l'université de Helmstedt. - Médecin à Lübeck. - Fils de : Meibom, Heinrich (1555-1625), dit der Ältere et père de : Meibom, Heinrich (1638-1700), dit der Jüngere
Figlio di Heinrich, nacque a Helmstedt dove fu anche insegnante di fisiologia dal 1620, pur avendo ottenuta la laurea in Medicina a Basilea nel 1619. Trasferitosi a Lubecca a causa della Guerra dei Trent'anni, vi esercitò la professione di medico e divenne archiatra del Vescovo, svolgendo contemporaneamente studi e ricerche sia mediche che antiquario-filologiche.
