This is a rectangular detail of the irregularly cut drawing.Thomas Vaux, 2nd Baron Vaux of Harrowden, was a poet, the author of posthumous verses in Tottel's Miscellany, 1557. He served as Captain of the Isle of Jersey. Holbein drew a later portrait of him. He also drew Vaux's wife, Lady Elizabeth.
