text: "Apostolo Zeno lasciò la propria biblioteca al Collegio del Ss. Rosario dei Domenicani Osservanti alle Zattere (Gesuati), redigendo testamento nel 1747 e portandolo a esecuzione poco prima della sua morte, nel 1750, quando fu effettuato il trasporto di oltre duecento casse di libri al convento. Il lascito avrebbe avuto valore solo se la biblioteca fosse stata conservata per sempre separata e distinta da quella del convento, se i frati si fossero impegnati nella redazione di un nuovo catalogo, se non si fosse proceduto alla vendita dei doppi. Il fratello di Zeno, Andrea Cornaro intentò una causa contro i Domenicani per rivendicare la restituzione della biblioteca, causa proseguita dai figli di lui, sino al 1770. Gli atti di questa vicenda giudiziale sono stampati in: Per li rr. pp. Domenicani Osservanti delle Zattere, [1770] (Marc. It. X, 55 [=6531]. Per difendersi dalle pretese del Cornaro, che accusava i frati di vendere i duplicati, di non preservare la biblioteca zeniana separata, essi compilarono ampie memorie che documentano dettagliatamente l'intera vicenda (Marc. It. X, 55 [=6531]). Il catalogo della biblioteca di Apostolo Zeno è il codice marciano It. XI, 289-293 (=7273-7278); altri cataloghi della stessa biblioteca sono: It.
