Libraire. Fils de Zacharias I Chatelain. Apprenti chez Jean Malherbe en 1700-1701. Également auteur d'un atlas. Son fils Henry Jedis Chatelain lui succède sous la raison : "Chatelain et fils" ou "Veuve Chatelain et fils". Associé, de 1706 à 1726, à son beau-frère François L'Honoré, parfois sous la raison : "François L'Honoré et compagnie" ; à partir de 1707, à son frère, peut-être Isaac Samuel Chatelain, le pasteur, sous la raison : "Chatelain frères", jusqu'en mars 1715.
Drukarz i księgarz holenderski, syn Zachariasa (I). Działał w Amsterdamie w latach 1706-1753. W latach 1707- 1715 prowadził z bratem Henri Abraham Châtelain (1684-1743) spółkę jako "Frères Châtelain Libraires", w latach 1706-1726 działał z François l'Honoré jako "François L'Honoré et compagnie", od 1752 ze swym synem Henri Jedis jako "Z. Chatelain et fils".
