Jésuite. Poète. Jacques Vanière entra dans la Compagnie de Jésus en 1680. Professeur de grammaire à Tournon et à Toulouse, de rhétorique à Montpellier. Il devint principal du pensionnat de Toulouse en 1699 et recteur d'Auch en 1720. Poète, auteur de : "Praedium rusticum". Il mourut à Toulouse en 1739.
