Honorary LLD Glasgow 1846.From Provenance Catalogue: Born in 1796, Adams gained his M.A. at King's College in 1813. He gained a reputation as a classical scholar. Himself an author, he was also an eminent translator of medical works. In 1856 he obtained his M.D.. He practised at Banchory-Ternan."
