Francuski jezuita, pisarz, kaznodzieja, rektor kolegiów jezuickich, spowiednik króla Henryka III, wsławił się akcją nawracania hugenotów. Autor pism ascetycznych i polemicznych, a przede wszystkim katechizmu w jęz. fr. "Catechisme et sommaire de la doctrine chrestienne" (1563), który przetłumaczył też na jęz. łac. i grec.
