Sir; Verleger, Sohn von John Murray I. (1737-1793); nach dem Tod von John Murray I. wurde sein Assistent Samuel Highley Partner von John Murray II (1778-1843) und führte das Geschäft bis zur Volljährigkeit des letzteren. Sie trennten sich 1803. - Ab ca. 1830 arbeitete sein Sohn John Murray (1808-1892) im Geschäft mit.
Libraire. Fils du libraire londonien John I Murray. Encore mineur en 1793 à la mort de son père, c'est Samuel Highley qui gère la librairie et chez qui John II Murray fait son apprentissage de déc. 1793 à déc. 1800. Aurait travaillé sous la raison fictive : "William Murray" en 1804 et 1805. Se sépare de S. Highley en mars 1803 et rachète la librairie de William Miller vers 1812. Édite la "Quarterly Review" à partir de 1809. .

Aurait travaillé sous la raison fictive "William Murray" en 1804 et 1805. Gendre (mars 1807) du libraire d'Édimbourg Charles Eliot, avec qui il est en affaires. Se sépare de S. Highley en mars 1803 et rachète la librairie de William Miller vers 1812. Édite la "Quarterly Review" à partir de 1809. Décédé à Londres en juin 1843. Son fils John III Murray (1808-1892) lui succède
