Erudito nato in Inghilterra, forse a Londra, nel 1535 e morto a Fulham (Middlesex) nel 1625. Nel 1554 tornò in Italia con il padre, Michelangelo, dove ricevette la sua prima formazione. Tornato in Inghilterra (1575) entrò nel collegio della Maddalena a Oxford e vi rimase per parecchi anni.
