Arabischer Gelehrter, bekannt als Geschichtsschreiber und Geograph; Statthalter und Sultan von Ḥamāh (Letzteres, ab 720/1320, als "al-Malik al-Muʾaiyad"), aus der Ḥamāter Seitenlinie der ägyptischen Aiyūbiden; sein Vater war al-Malik al-Afḍal, Bruder des Fürsten von Ḥamāh al-Malik al-Manṣūr; nahm an Feldzügen gegen die Kreuzfahrer teil; verfasste u.a. die allgemeine Weltgeschichte "al-Muḫtaṣar fī aḫbār al-bašar" (bekannt als "Tārīḫ Abi-'l-Fidāʾ", bei Brockelmann und in der Enc. Islam "Muḫtaṣar taʾrīḫ al-bašar") und die allgemeine Geographie "Taqwīm al-buldān".
