Sohn von Johann Friedrich Gleditsch I (1653-1716), schon 1710 zusammen mit diesem genannt; Bruder von Johann Friedrich Gleditsch II (1682-1711), Vater von Johann Friedrich Gleditsch III (1717-1744). Dt. Buchhändler, trat 1711 in die Sortiments- und Verlagsbuchhandlung seines Vaters ein und führte sie nach dessen Tod allein weiter; auch unter den Bezeichnungen: Johann Friedrich Gleditsch Sohn (filius) bzw. Johann Friedrich Gleditschens seel. Sohn (b. filius)
