      text: 'Aus Scheibenberg (Grafschaft Meißen), ließ sich 1557 in Pforzheim als Drucker nieder und ging Ende 1560 nach Frankfurt/Main, wo er zur Fastenmesse 1561 Haus und Druckerei des Weigand Han erwarb. Schloß mit Han einen Gesellschaftsvertrag ab, wobei er der Drucker der Verlagsproduktion wurde. Nach Hans Tod im Herbst 1562 ging das Verhältnis auf dessen Erben über und wurde noch mit Sigmund Feyerabend zu der sog. "Cumpanei" erweitert, die bis 1571 über 60 Drucke herausbrachte. Die Offizin ging nach Rabs Tod 1580 auf den Sohn Christoph Rab über'
