Gesuita duca di Gandia (Valencia) dove nacque nel 1510. Morì a Roma nel 1572. Marchese di Lombay, vicerè di Catalogna, godette di grande considerazione alla corte di Carlo V. Nel 1551 entrò nella Compagnia di Gesù di cui divenne generale nel 1565. Beatificato da Urbano VIIII nel 1624, fu canonizzato da Clemente X nel 1671.
