Menzies held this post until 1650 when he was appointed Professor of Divinity, and at the same time became incumbent of Greyfriars Church in Aberdeen. He became Professor of Divinity at King's College, Aberdeen for about two years, but left that post in 1680 to return to his Marischal Professorship. After hesitation he acceded to episcopacy in the early 1660s. His writings show him to have been stridently anti-Catholic and equally hostile towards Quaker thinking. 300 1$8ger$aProfessor in Aberdeen 340 01$8eng$a1624-1684$xa1624a1684 340 01$8ger$a1624-1684$xa1624a1684 340 01$8eng$ad. 1800 350 1$0acti$8ger$aTheologe$uhttp://d-nb.info/gnd/4059756-8$2gnd 400 01$aMenzeis$bJohn$0varn 801 $aGB$bStAbUL$c20140520$n1595 801 $aDE$bGND$c20090910$n139182470 801 $aGB$bESTC$ntb065761 831 0$acnp00024060 831 0$acnp00083725 956 8$0same$nVIAF$yhttp://viaf.org/viaf/32342402$8eng$zClustered authority record 956 8$0same$nDNBI$yhttp://d-nb.info/gnd/139182470$8eng$zAuthority record 956 8$0same$nWDAT$yhttp://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q18731814$8eng$zWikidata description set 998 $a20091028$b12:00:00 999 $a20151214$b12:00:00 999 $a20091031$b12:55:00 999 $a20181216$b12:00:00 999 $a20190503$b12:00:00 999 $a20190821$b12:00:00 999 $a20190926$b12:00:00 999 $a20200129$b08:27:15
