In Rom Studium Kirchenrecht. 1625 erstes Testament und Rückkehr nach Büren. 1629-1644 Reichskammergerichtspräsident zu Speyer. 1644 in Trier Eintritt in den Jesuitenorden. 1645-1650 Studium Philosophie u. Theologie in Köln. Sacerdos Societatis Jesu, scholasticus, non professus.'

Jesuit Moritz von Büren übergab in seinem Testament vom 21.4.1640 den Jesuiten u.a. das vormalige adlige Rittergut Haus Geist bei Oelde, das durch seine Mutter, Elisabeth von Loe (verh. von Büren, verh. von Westphal) in seinem Besitz gekommen war. Der Stifter lebte seit 1657 bis zu seinem Tode 1661 auf Haus Geist. Er wurde in der Petrikirche zu Münster beigesetzt.'
