Illustration of Juliana Berners from page 1834 of the cited volume. The book labels the illustration as Juliana Berners, but the text states that very little is know about her other than she was, "reputed to have been prioress of the nunnery of Sopwell, long since in ruin, near St. Albans". I find it doubtful that this is actually an image of the fifteenth century Berners. More likely it is a generic nun image. Lets call it an approximation of what she might have looked like. From Google Books:Title Library of the world's best literature, ancient and modern, Volume 4Library of the World's Best Literature, Ancient and Modern, Mrs. Lucia Isabella (Gilbert) RunkleEditors Charles Dudley Warner, Hamilton Wright Mabie, Mrs. Lucia Isabella (Gilbert) Runkle, George H.
