text: "camaldolese, fu abate generale dell'ordine e venne creato cardinale da Pio VII nel 1823 e cardinale vicario da Leone XII. Durante il suo soggiorno presso il monastero di San Michele di Murano, cercò invano di preservare la biblioteca conventuale dalle dispersione a seguito delle soppressioni napoleoniche. Fu un profondo studioso di geografia ed ebbe il merito di rinnovare gli studi sul Mappamondo di Fra' Mauro e in generale sui viaggiatori veneziani."
