Unqualified supporter of English (British) liberties and parliamentary reform. Independently wealthy, Hollis organised the distribution of progressive and sympathetic texts to libraries in Britain, Continental Europe and America. Some of his book donations were especially bound, with libertarian / reformist symbols.
