      text: "Membro di una famiglia veneziana di antica origine con molti interessi e commerci in Levante, entrò dell'Ordine degli eremitani di S. Agostino ma poi abbandonò Venezia a causa dell'interdetto e della sua presa di posizione a favore del Papa, riparando a Bologna e poi recandosi in diversi conventi agostiniani (Genova, Siena, Rimini, Pisa) come \"sacrae theologiae magister\"; giunto a Roma nel 1622, ottenne la cattedra alla Sapienza dove insegnò dal 1627 al 1642 quando Urbano 8. lo creò vescovo di Vieste e nel 1644 suffraganeo di Ostia e Velletri dove morì. Opere: Dialogia alli signori della Republica e Senato di Venetia; Tractatus de iure principum (Bononiae 1607); Tractatus apologeticus pro statu Romanae urbis et curiae (Senis 1608); In primum Sententiarum responsiones ad quaesita omnia quae circa materiam de unitate Trinitate et attributis divinis sapientioribus scholasticae theologiae patribus fieri solent eorundemque clarissimae resolutiones...
