1835 gründete Dr. Bernhard Behr den auch heute unter diesem Namen bekannten Behr's Verlag in Berlin. Im selben Jahr nahm Dr. Behr seinen Schwager Emil Bock mit ins Geschäft auf. 1840 wurde Emil Bock Teilhaber des B. Behr's Verlages. 1856 entschied sich Dr. Bernhard Behr für längere Zeit ins Ausland zu gehen und übergab die Geschäftsführung vollständig an Emil Bock
