Ende der 60er Jahre wahrscheinlich Werkmeister bei Johannes de Spira in Venedig, machte sich nach Erlöschen von dessen Privileg 1470 selbständig. 1475 Umwandlung des Betriebs in die Handelsgesellschaft "Nicolaus Jenson sociique", der u.a. die Witwe des Johannes de Spira angehörte, zum 1.6.1480 Umwandlung in "Johannes de Colonia, Nicolaus Jenson et socii". Wahrscheinlich im September 1480 gestorben'
