Anmerkung

John Fraser was apprenticed to Charles Randall. He published a large number of chapbooks in 1816 and 1817. “Harvey” rejects the identification with John Harvey of Paisley. The Stirling Journal cronicles his removal to London, from which he returned in 1823. Quality Street, was The Mealmarket, or The Foot of the Town, Quality Street was a nickname for it. In 1820 it was christened King Street in honour of George IV. He abandoned printing about 1826 and devoted himself to a school, which was a success. He died in 1839.
