Apprenticed to John Philip in 1826, freed 1832. John Philip died in February 1847 and John Edmond. who had been Philip's bookkeeper, took over the business. Eventually, when John Edmond died in December 1876, his son John Philip Edmond and James Spark (1837-1910) became partners in the firm.John Philip Edmond died in January 1906. Edmond & Spark stationers and bookbinders were absorbed into Aberdeen University Press in 1966.
