En morir Christophe Plantin, a finals del 1589, i durant un breu període de temps, la menció en els llibres és "ex officina Plantiniana apud viduam". A partir del 1590 i fins a la mort de la vídua el 1596 es converteix en: "ex officina Plantiniana, apud viduam & Ioannem Moretum".

Po śmierci Krzysztofa Plantina, wdowa Jeanne Rivière, upoważnila do prowadzenia oficyny w Antwerpii zięcia Jana Moretusa. W latach 1589-1596 firma działała pod nazwą: "Ex Officina Plantiniana apud Viduam et Ioannem Moretum".
