text: "Ab 1800 war Georg Andreas Reimer Leiter der Realschulbuchhandlung, die er 1801 in Erbpacht übernahm und 1822 käuflich erwarb (sie firmierte bereits seit 1817 als „Reimer'sche Buchhandlung“). Ab 1818 verlegte er unter eigenem Namen. 1822 erwarb er die Weidmannsche Buchhandlung in Leipzig. 1826 trat sein Sohn Georg Ernst Reimer in das Geschäft mit ein. Georg Reimer kaufte 1828 auch die frühere Göschensche Druckerei in Grimma"
