P.A. Brodin (first names not known) was employed by the state lottery and also a printer. In 1781 he acquired the former Holmerus printing house in Stockholm, which then belonged to A.J. Medelplan. In 1783 Brodin expanded the business by purchase of Carl Stolpe’s printing house. Brodin, however, committed fraud in the lottery and ended up in jail, where he committed suicide in August 1786. His printing house was sold to A.J. Nordström.
