Henric Fougt (father) appeared as printer and type founder in 1766 ; acquired a patent for printing types for music notes in Britain 1767 ; active as printer of music in London 1767-1770 ; his address in London was given as “at the Lyre and Owl, in St. Martin’s-Lane, near Long-Acre” ; bequeathed with three quarters of Grefingska tryckeriet in 1771 ; printer of official legislation from August 1771 and from then on usually adds “Kongl. tryckeriet” or “kongl. boktryckare” to his name in the imprints, only rarely is Kongl. tryckeriet used alone ; granted royal privilege to print all official documents from May 1773 ; the address in Stockholm, Stora Nygatan 104, appears on many of his imprints ; his widow, Elsa Fougt, born Momma, continued the business from his death in December 1782 until May 1811, when she left over to their son, Henric Fougt (son) [sources: Åke Vretblad, “Henric Fougts engelska musiktryck”, in Biblis (1958) 1958, p. 135-149.]
