Lavorò da solo e in società con Giovanni Boli e forse con Girolamo Soncino, di cui usò alcune iniziali xilografiche. Sposò Pirrina Bindoni, figlia di Agostino e sorella di Stefano, ed ebbe due figli: Bartolomeo ed Alessandro (ma anche Francesco, secondo Fioravanti, era figlio suo e non di Bartolomeo). M. tra il 1555 e il 1560. L'officina, che probabilmente si trovava alla pescheria, dopo il monastero di S. Agostino, passò al figlio Bartolomeo."
