      text: "Congrégation cénobitique et érémitique selon la Règle de saint Benoît et s'inspirant d'autres règles, fondée par Pierre de Morrone ; reconnue par Grégoire X en 1274. Les moines prirent le nom de Célestins à la suite de l'élection pontificale de Pierre de Morrone, devenu dès lors Célestin V (pape de juillet à décembre 1294 ; † 1296 ; canonisé en 1313). La congrégation devint très populaire en Italie, puis en France. Mais elle fut supprimée en France par la Commission des réguliers : en 1770 elle reçut l'ordre de ne plus recevoir de novices, et ses maisons furent supprimées entre 1774 et 1780. Les dernières, au royaume de Naples, disparurent en 1807"
