      text: "Imprimerie romaine fondée par le pape Pie IV au début de l'année 1561 et confiée à la direction de Paolo Manuzio (Paul Manuce), humaniste et imprimeur vénitien, fils d'Aldo I Manuzio (Alde Manuce l'Ancien), qui la dirigera jusqu'en 1570 en publiant également en son nom propre. Reçoit en 1566 du pape Paul V le monopole de l'impression des livres liturgiques réformés suivant le concile de Trente. Financée par une partie de l'octroi de la ville de Rome sur le vin, et non par le budget de la Chambre apostolique, d'où l'appellation d'imprimerie du peuple romain. Imprimerie établie d'abord au palais d'Aragonia, à la fontaine de Trevi, puis près de Santa Maria della Minerva"
