      text: "Buxheim appartenne dalla metà del decimo secolo al capitolo di Augsburh che intorno al 1100 vi fodò una casa per i canonici, dedicata a Nostra Signora. Nel 1402 Heinrich von Ellerbach la attribuì ai Certosini. Dopo alterne vicende, dal 1926 l'edificio appartiene ai Salesiani. La biblioteca dei certosini fu venduta all'asta dagli ultimi proprietari nel settembre 1883."

      text: 'The estate of Buxheim belonged from the mid-10th century to the chapter of Augsburg Cathedral who in about 1100 founded a house of canons here dedicated to Our Dear Lady. In 1402 Heinrich von Ellerbach gave the establishment to the Carthusians. In1546 during the Reformation the monastery was occupied by the nearby city of Memmingen; in 1548 it was declared reichsfrei. It was dissolved in the secularisation of 1802. In 1916 the state took over the buildings, which in 1926 were acquired by the Salesians. Following secularization in 1803, the library of the Carthusians at Buxheim became the property first of Johann Friedrich, Graf von Ostein, then of Friedrich Carl Rudolp von Waldbott- Bassenheim. The library was sold at auction (Munich: Carl Förster, September 1883) by Friedrich Karl’s son, Hugo Philipp von Waldbott- Bassenheim.'
