The continuation of the letters, first published in English, have been variously attributed to Daniel Defoe, Robert Midgley, William Bradshaw, or Sir Roger Manley. They were probably edited by Midgley from a translation, made by Bradshaw, of an Italian manuscript, possibly by Marana, but are also ascribed to Charles Cotolendi
