Admitted to Sanctuary for debt at Holyroodhouse 2 June 1808. Bankrupt in 1809, he paid 14s in the pound to his creditors. Edinburgh Evening Courant 18 March 1809. Burgess in right of father John Robertson wine merchant 5 September 1809; Guild Brother 26 November 1817. Sequestration in SRO 1829. Apprentice: Thomas Oliver, Burgess 20 March 1817.
