Recorded in the baptismal records of St. Olave, Hart Street, London, as Cornelius (baptised 23 July 1824; birth date 27 June 1824; parents John Bellingham and Mary Inglis). Recorded in the National Probate Index for 1873 as having recorded the will of his father, there also recorded as Cornelius. Obituary notice in the Proceedings of the Royal Colonial Institute, v. 39, lists Cornelius Inglis, M.D., as "late of New Zealand". One "Cornelius Inglis, Anglus" received his medical degree in 1853 from Edinburgh.
