Altre informazioniKurt Wolff was a german publisher, born in Bonn on March 3, 1887. He attended the universities of Bonn, Munich, Marburg and Leipzig. He was interesting in literature and literary history.
He was a book collector. Most of his library was acquired between 1907 and 1911. In the summer of 1901 he owned more or less 12 000 volumes. His bibliophile interest are reflected in his contributions to the journal Zeitschrift für Bücherfreunde.
In the 1913, Kurt Wolff Verlag was founded, in Leipzig. Kurt Wolff’s inclination for publishing books in series led to the creation of a new type of book: the art book with separate illustrations in full-page format. Due to the crisis, he closed down is publishing enterprises in 1930. Probably for the same reason, in 1926 his book collection was sold by Joseph Baer at Frankfurt; Wellcome collection obtained 115 items. His second marriage, to Helen Wolff, took place in London on March 1933; Helen herself wrote a bibliographical article about Kurt.
