Other InformationIn 1965 Rattey published the catalogue of his collection of blockbooks (4) and incunabula (182). In a short preface he wrote several interesting notes about where and when he purchased his books, and from whom as well: '... in addition to some choice books from Maggs' inner store, I was able to acquire from Quaritch about 40 of the finest incunabula I have handled. Most of these came from the libraries of C.A. Ascherson and of C.H. St. John Hornby. [...] This catalogue marks the end of the second decade of my incunable collecting'. After Rattey's death, his daughter Hope made an arrangement with the British Library curators of incunabula about the donation of five of his father's books.
