According to a letter prefixed to the Anderson Galleries sale of American from his library, 18-19 April 1921, James F. Drake purchased Andrews's library in 1919, and kept out the Americana, which he then decided to consign to auction; by implication, the rest of the library was offered by Drake as part of his stock.
