Other InformationFounded 756/61 (earlier tradition dated the founding to 746). From earliest times outstanding for education, letters as for its painted glass, lead works and reforming zeal. A press was inaugurated in 1673 under abbot Bernhard Wenzl and the library was rich in fine books and incunabula. Also devoted to St. Salvator, St. Peter und Paul.
