Altre informazioniCoat of arms of the Wechsler family. The design is characterized by a red shield, crossed by two horizontal white triangles, whose tips end in golden buttons. It appears in several books printed in Germany between 1466-1476, among which: Biblia latina ([Straßburg: Heinrich Eggestein, not after 24. Mai 1466]) at the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek; Franciscus de Retza, Comestorium vitiorum (Nuremberge: [Johann Sensenschmidt and Heinrich Kefer, for Heinrich Rumel, 1470]), at the Morgan Library; Guillermus Alvernus, De fide et legibus, ([Augsburg, Günther Zainer, not after 1476]) at Milan Braidense; Johannes Gallensis, Summa collationum (Augsburg: Anton Sorg, 1475), at the University Library of Naples; Gregorius, Epistolae ([Augsburg: Gunther Zainer, not after 1476) at the Nakles Sale (Christie's New York, 17 April 2000, lot 42). The coat of arms is added in Alvernus, De fide et legibus at Milan Braidense by the rubricator's hand, date 1472. It is also found in a manuscript at the University Library of Graz: Cod. 861 (Katalog Zotter), dated to the second half of the fifteenth century. A similar coat of arms appears in Augsburg, Staats- und Stadtbibliothek, 4° Cod. 147, Bl. 64r. The coat of arms has been identified by Caroline Zöhl.
