Other InformationJan Amor Tarnowski, the owner of Tarnów, brought the Bernardine monks to the town and founded a wooden monastery in 1459. In the years 1468-1499 he built a new Bernardine monastery complex surrounded by a fortified walls. The church burned down in 1614 and was restored in the years 1620-1626. In 1789 the Austrian authorities liquidated the monastery, and the monks had to leave it.
