Altre informazioniAlso 6th Earl of Bridgewater; inherited the Bridgewater Library from his brother John Egerton (1727-1748), the 5th Earl, who had inherited it from their father, Scroop Egerton (1681-1745), the 4th Earl, neither of whom had made an impact on its contents. Francis Egerton moved the library to London, to Cleveland House, also known as Bridgewater House. The Rev. Henry John Todd was hired to oversee the move, but also disposed of many volumes in auction sales by Thomas King (1802-1804), and had many volumes rebound in brown calf with the Bridgewater crest on the covers.
