Other InformationSir Stephen Gaselee was a British diplomat, writer, and librarian. Fellow of Magdalene College, Cambridge 1909-43, in 1908, he became the Pepys Librarian at Magdalene College, Cambridge. He was president of the Bibliographical Society of London from 1932 to 1934, and a frequent and generous donor of books to Cambridge University Library. Librarian and Keeper of Papers, Foreign Office 1920-43, presented 300 early printed books to Cambridge University Library 1934, and his important collection of sixteenth-century books in 1940: see DNB; Oates pp. 44-7, 834.
